Back on Track: Wade's Story

This is Wade’s story about getting back on track with training at The Institute

I first started working with Raina in late February 2019, after becoming concerned about my ability to continue to enjoy my life and favorite recreational activities at a high level. Specifically, skiing at an expert level and playing golf as a single digit handicapper. I often joked that 20 days of skiing, and 40 days of golf a year gave me the body I had. While I looked OK, the truth is that I had "gone soft", and too much work coupled with not enough exercise led to a serious case of "Dad bod" with the back pain to go along with it.

I had been experiencing significant lower back pain for a couple years and my doctor had suggested "perhaps it's time to consider alternate activities". Needless to say, it was time to take action.

My starting point in February:

  • Significant lower back pain and Sciatica

  • 182 lbs.

  • 34" waist

  • 25% Body fat

  • Mildly depressed  about my future

I started working with Raina once a week for the first two months then ramping to twice a week, and by September 1st, 2019 my results were:

  • No back pain

  • 163 lbs.

  • 32" waist

  • 17% body fat

  • Feeling strong, fit, with an extremely positive outlook

I've never felt better, and I'm excited about ripping through the trees and bumps at Mary Jane once again. It's astonishing that my back pain is generally gone after being told that it was likely something I would just have to live with. 

We continue to work together with a focus on strength and flexibility, and I'm truly excited about the continuous improvement that lies ahead.

Trust this woman! She is very particular and specific about making sure you apply the the right technique and form while working out. She will keep you safe, push you within your abilities and deliver results!
